Where are my pictures dude? (Summer Edition)

Hey peeps!

I’ll keep this post very short since we are currently in Aruba celebrating our 2nd year wedding anniversary. We work a TON and the only way Ali lets me work so much is by promising her that we’ll get to play hard once in a while. Once we get back, I’ll be knocking out a bunch of sessions next week pretty quickly so stay tuned. ;)

Thanks everyone for being so understanding and patient… it will be worth the wait!

Keith

Chelsea + Keith @ The Farm in Olney, IL

Who doesn’t love a good road trip? If you’re from St. Louis and you know where Olney, IL is located, then you know it’s a 3 hour drive. But Ali and I love shooting at locations that have sentimental meanings to the couples. In this case, this location (farm) belongs to Keith’s (aka groom) family and one day, this awesome couple will be living somewhere on this large property. Pretty cool right? Wanna know what else is cool? Chelsea’s mom, Kim. Why you ask? Because Kim surprised Chelsea by nabbing Ali to do her makeup for their engagement session!

It’s not the first time we’ve shot at a farm (and I know it’s not the last) but what we love about farms is that each one is different and unique. All of them have a ton of character with the paint flaking off the old wooden boards and rusting red + orange fences. The land tends to be flat which means the sun can reach us so we can get some awesome sun setting moments.

Also, did I mention that Chelsea is a Carlinville girl? Yep, more proof that Carlinville spikes their water with something so that all their women are stunning. Don’t believe me? Do a search for Carlinville on my blog and see if yourself… :)

See ya in August guys!

Chelsea is my georgeous niece….. such stunning and innovative shots!!

Clare Burns – Videographer Extraordinaire

The last session for March 2013! I apologize for the recent lack of posting the past week or so… it’s been absolutely NUTS around here. Busy busy busy. Thank god that April was a little quieter (translation – no weddings) which means I’ll be able to hammer out some sessions pretty quickly.

Which brings us to Ms Clare Burns. Videographer Extraordinaire who also happens to be my sis-in-law. You can usually find us at family functions in a corner of a room ‘gearing out’ about the latest and greatest camera gear (Canon ROCKS!). How good is she? She’s worked on several documentaries and even worked on Mitt Romney’s campaign. (for serious) Clare is putting together a new commercial website and needed some portrait images. So Ali I carved out a morning and grabbed a bunch of images of her. Needless to say, she’s super easy to work with and undoubtedly gorgeous (which makes our job pretty easy :)). Look out for more of her work later this year… we’ll be working with Clare to put together a promo video for our boudoir work. :) In the meantime, check out her website which is almost ready -> www.calaburproductions.com.

Megan + Gavin @ Lafayette Park United Methodist Church + Windows On Washington

Megan and Gavin’s wedding is the 4th wedding for me in 2013 and the coincidentally, the forth time I’m back at Windows on Washington. :) Remember Megan and Gavin? They rocked their engagement session over and Sugar Creek Winery late last year. If Gavin doesn’t look familiar, that’s because he cut his long wavy locks for the clean cut look for the wedding. I absolutely loved this wedding… loved the colors, loved the details (e.g stripe ties, slim fitting suits, yellow pashminas, short dresses, etc) and of course, loved working with Megan and Gavin. I knew from their engagement session that they were super comfortable in front of the camera and were open to anything for a great image… basically a photographer’s dream.

One of the perks of this job is the opportunity to work with photographers with a helluva talent. You’ve seen images from friends/photographers from the Genesis Workshop who have flown over to good old STL to shoot with me but there is a ton of local talent right here in the Show Me state. Case in point, Michelle Ross is a seriously talented photographer/artist and it was an absolute honor having her document Megan + Gavin’s wedding along side with me.

Congrats guys and thanks again for having us document your wedding!

Cheers,

Keith + Michelle + Ali

Great work Keith! What a fun wedding!

Sally + Ryan @ Mizzou

Hey peeps! Sorry if it looked like I was MIA for the last couple of weeks. I was sick for the better part of a week… Ali gave me something that involved sneezing and cough up nasty stuff (gross). Also, I was out of town for week in Nashville, TN… yeehaw! What does that mean? It means I have some catchin’ up to do. ;) Ok, let’s kick it off with Sally and Ryan’s engagement session in Columbia, MO.

Sometimes, it’s not what you know… it’s who you know. Take Sally for example… She’s a Mizzou alumni and knows the ‘gate keeper’ for Faurot field. Yep, that’s right… the same field with the Mizzou Tigers play. So we jumped on the opportunity to shoot part of Sally + Ryan’s engagement session there while they were closed for the season. But it also meant that a good part of the stadium was under construction. :( Of course it also didn’t help that it started raining just when we got the session started. (boooooooo) No worries… the stadium had a ton of indoor areas to do plenty of cool stuff while we waited for the rain to stop and it was hard not to do the entire session there. But we stayed focus and broke away half way through the session to get warmed at Jesse Hall. Just like Faurot field, we had the entire place to ourselves… LOVE IT.

Ok, if you didn’t figure it out yet, Sally + Ryan’s wedding date is in September later this year and I predict a KILLER wedding. Sally is pretty detailed oriented (just like me!) but very creative (just like me!)… in fact, she wrote me a poem to convince to take on one more wedding for 2013 (golf clap)

Sally + Ryan, thanks for braving the wet AND cold. You are the definition of troopers. ;)
