You aren’t the first one to ask this question…

Got a question for me? Maybe I have an answer. Shoot me an email over at

Q: Do you tip photographers? Should I tip you? Will it help grease the wheels in getting my pictures back sooner?
A: While I appreciate getting tips (it helps me when taking the wife out for sushi), it is certainly NOT necessary. And no it does not help with pushing your session up the processing queue. Most of clients will already know that if you need some or all your pictures by a certain time frame (i.e. save the dates, holiday cards, gifts, etc), I will work with you to meet your goal.

Q: When are you going to quit your day job and go full time with photography?
A: This has to be my number 1 question I get from friends, clients, family, coworkers, etc. The answer is I have no plans to leave my day job. I’m fortunate enough to have a great job at a great company and like what I do. As well, I’ve seen some photographers treat their photography like it’s a ‘day job’. Meaning that they are just going through the routines and are not really inspired to do anything different… I know that that doesn’t mean ALL full time photographers will follow the same path but I want to try to avoid it.

Q: What should we wear for our family/portrait/engagement session?
A: I usually tell my clients to avoid the following: clothing that has printed lettering (i.e. ‘Cardinals’, ‘Puma’, ‘Abercrombie’), any kind of sporting gear (i.e. sport flip flops, running shoes, track attire, etc), match matchy shirts (it’s a family picture… not a team picture!), clothing that might blend too much with the background or location (i.e. green in a park, black at a night session, white on a snowy day).
What I do recommend is wearing something comfortable and something that makes you feel good. If you feel good, you’ll look good and it will show.. Personally, I like people to wear clothing that reflects their style and character. But ultimately, it’s YOUR session so you can wear whatever you want. :)

Q: What methods of payments do you accept?
A: Cash (of course), check (payable to Keith Lee Studios LLC) and credit card (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover).

Q: I just had my session/wedding with you. When should I expect to have all the pictures?
A: Typically it’s anywhere from 6-8 weeks. Could it be longer? Yes. Especially during wedding season (which is April to November for me). However, if you need a few images from the session/wedding, please contract me and I’ll be more than happy to help out. :)

Q: How images should I expect to be delivered from my session?A: It varies but for most sessions (family/portrait/senior/engagement/boudoir), anywhere from 75-100 images. For a traditional wedding day, about 500-700 images.

Q: Are you insured?
A: Yes. By Hill & Usher (true story)

Q: What body/lenses do you use?
